Jillo

Jillo is the debut album by San Diego pianist, organist, and composer Hindy Bare.

 

Produced by pianist and arranger Anthony Smith and recorded in San Diego, the album features Bare on piano, Hammond B-3, Fender Rhodes, and Yamaha C8 concert grand with drummer Richard Sellers, bassists Rob Thorson and Kevin Cooper, guitarist Hank Easton, and saxophonist Dan Boissy.

 

Built around Bare’s three-part Jill Ker Conway Suite, Jillo pays tribute to the Australian-born historian, memoirist, humanist, and first woman president of Smith College, while moving between small-group jazz, soul-jazz, blues-based groove, and songs by Macy Gray, J Dilla, and Stevie Wonder.​

Fuzzy: The Blues

Hindy Bare plays keyboards on this 2017 release from San Diego blues guitarist and vocalist Lenny “Fuzzy” Rankins, a Grammy-recognized musician known for his work with Ike Turner. Fuzzy: The Blues is a 14-song collection of funky, groove-driven blues from Rankins’ catalog.
